Glycemic Index Chart

Know the Glycemic Index(GI): This index rates carbohydrates according to their effects on blood sugar. It’s ranked on a scale from 1-100 plus(glucose is 100), lower glycemic goods having a lower number(they don’t spike your blood sugar), so they are generally healthier for you, whereas the high-glycemic foods quickly elevate your blood sugar, so they are generally no has healthy for you. Eating a diet filled with low-glycemic foods will lower your blood-glucose levels, decrease cravings, and help you with weight loss. ***High blood glucose levels are bad for your blood vessels, brain and pant size! (;

However, be careful because some foods low on the GI chart aren’t healthy WHATSOEVER. A good example would be peanut M&M’s, they have a GI of 33, whereas steal cut oats have a GI of about 51(which are high in fiber and helps regulate blood sugar for hours). IN general, fruits, vegetables, legumes, and nuts are the best low GI foods. but get to know it!
